Although trained in combat and rivaling his father's skill with the sword, Galahad prefers to appeal for peace and mercy first before bringing things to violence. That Merek seems willing to bring him to Camelot against his will, makes him think that words and appeals may not be enough.

Still, he does not want to be the cause of conflict between them, and does not think the door has been closed to further discussion yet.
